[7 Days to Die] Alcohol Designs

Truly one of my favorite projects I've done (so far!), and a collaborative success! I was tasked with creating branding for three different liqour packaging designs. The resulting assets were then modeled and textured by Dekogon Studios.

This was like being in college again - coming up with branding guidelines for drinks, as well as the boxes those drinks came in. You can see some of my WIP on these assets detailed in this gallery. Also, some additional information:
* Diablo Descarado: I illustrated all of these concepts very roughly in a sketchbook, then heavily improved them once I was in Illustrator. Initially I was aiming for a cheeky illustrative mascot, but opted instead for a simpler negative-space focused design so as to not take too much attention away from the rest of the branding.
* Ricky Joel's Bourbon: I cannot actually illustrate like this easily, but thanks to a handy stock asset I had purchased ages ago, I was able to roughly come up with an edited version of Rick.
* Stratim: Making this logo was odd, because I created the one I liked the most within a few seconds of messing around with crown symbols and skewed "wings". The logo is meant to symbolize "being a king over the mountains" or something like that.

While pulling references for Tequila, I noticed that it often had the most creative and vivid designs. Diablo Descarado is an attempt at that type of label design, with a cheeky evil mascot.

I went through several iterations on the mascot! I wanted to play with the "Descarado" (Impudent, Cheeky, etc) idea and make the mascot really evil. I eventually landed on the final design having no lineart and utilizing negative space effectively!

For the Bourbon, I wanted to really sell that "Old Country Fella" vibe that Whiskey tends to aim for. I ended up referencing "Ricky Joel", an amalgamation of the company's founders.

In my experience, Vodka tends to aim for a "Classy" look, so I went with a crystal blue.

I also provided details on how I envisioned the shape of the bottle to appear, as well as how the label would wrap around the alcohol bottles.

The final 3D assets were done by DEKOGON Studio! I'm not familiar on who exactly was responsible, but I believe Ankur Kaul played a huge part! Regardless, the team did excellent with the concept!
