[7 Days to Die] Drink Icons

I was tasked with remaking our drink icons to go with the 2.0 update reworking handhelds. Like with the canned goods, I've always felt the drink icons have difficulties with legibility in color - a ton of the original icons are too close visibly, with different hues of orange and reds. I opted to push the color differences much further in my remake, trying my best to give each yellow a very distinct hue difference.

My process involved taking the model provided by a team member into Blender, posing a rough light setup around, and rendering different passes for use in Photoshop. An experienced light artist might've been able to do it all in Blender, but I find it much easier to get things done quickly with Photoshop editing.

SergiDis has a Real Foam Shader in SUPERHIVE (Blender Market) that proved handy for the beer.

A first look at the process - different render passes combined in Photoshop, with Smart Objects used to check legibility at the in-game sizing.

I reused some of my work for MEGACRUSH Energy drink, and utilized a photoshop trick to distort a smart object around a cylinder, giving the illusion of 3D wrapping stickers.
